Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Do more than “get your cowboy on” in the Lone Star State’s capital of Austin. Billed as the “Live Music Capital of the World,” delve into a pulsing hotspot that boasts a big-city skyline, some of America’s top high-tech firms, trail-blazing politicians, buffalo-hunting origins dating to the 1830s, and world-class art and culture. Learn why eclectic, liberal Austinites’ slogan is “Keep Austin Weird,” and shake out your napkin and pull up a stool to Mexican and Texas barbecue fare.

Highlights

• Go backstage at the “Austin City Limits” studio — the longest-running TV show in music history — and behind the scenes at the LBJ Presidential Library for rare insight into America’s 36th president.
• Explore the Texas-sized capitol building, a university art museum holding 17,000 works, and ascend Mount Bonnell for majestic vistas of the Colorado River, downtown and Texas Hill Country to the west.
• Hear a university professor open an entertaining window into the city’s thriving music scene, a former Texas State senator discuss the fascinating life of Barbara Jordan, and delight in live music of a two-time Grammy Award winner.
