EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Is everything bigger in the Lone Star State? Or is it just a big myth? Learn just how normal Texans really are on this adventure exploring Texas history, culture and politics — from the state capital of Austin to the LBJ Ranch in Hill Country and on to richly diverse San Antonio. The Old West’s six-guns are gone, but influences of the 26 ethnic groups that settled Texas beckon at every turn.

Highlights

• In Austin, get the “low-down” on politics at the state capitol, and hear the story of Texas at the Texas State History Museum.
• Delve into the life of our 36th president at the LBJ Library and Museum, then experience the LBJ ranch and its Hereford cattle on the banks of the Pedernales River.
• In festive San Antonio, explore America’s oldest Spanish mission complex, the iconic Alamo, the River Walk, the King William Historic District and La Villita.

Activity Notes

Walking up to two miles daily.
