See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
After a hard day on the trail, cowboys of the Old West entertained one another around the campfire with poems, songs and tall tales. The annual Texas Cowboy Poetry Gathering continues this rich tradition by gathering singers, songwriters, storytellers, artisans and craftsmen in the west Texas mountains. Observe chuck wagon cooking and blacksmithing or try the Texas two-step while learning about life on the trail in encounters with performers.

• Enjoy a behind-the-scenes performance by two musicians and storytellers featured in the Cowboy Poetry Gathering.
• Step back in time and into historic, post-Civil War Fort Davis to learn about buffalo soldiers, skirmishes with Native Americans and life at the fort for soldiers and their families.
• Enjoy performances at the Cowboy Poetry Gathering and absorb the spirit of Country and Western music through lively performances.
