ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderately Challenging

See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Sonoma County is more than one of the world’s finest wine-growing areas, although it does boast more than 250 wineries. It’s also the perfect place to absorb the natural beauty and pleasant climate of the California outdoors, riding past vineyards, along mountain roads and parallel to the famed Russian River on biking adventures led by knowledgeable local cyclists who provide equipment, assistance and support (including a “sag wagon”). With a casual pace and frequent stops, enjoy a safe and scenic ride while you discover boutique and family-owned wineries along the way.

Highlights

• Bike through beautiful Sonoma County on quiet roads led by knowledgeable local cyclists.
• With a local wine expert, learn about Sonoma County’s distinct microclimates and how they help create the wine in your glass.
• Learn about the rich history of Healdsburg and surrounding area at the Healdsburg Museum & Historical Society.

Program Notes

All bikes and helmets are provided. Bikes are hybrids, sizes 13-25 with some step throughs in smaller sizes. You may bring your own bike and/or helmet if you want, however you will be completely responsible for all repair work on your bike including flat tires.
Due to the nature of this program, listening devices are not available.

Activity Notes

Biking 15-25 miles a day on scenic country roads with some hills. All participants should have intermediate riding ability or above.
