From the Marin Headlands to Angel Island, Mount Tamalpais to Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin County offers a magnificent diversity of hiking opportunities. Explore the finest trails in the area and delve into the history, geography, geology, flora and fauna of Marin County with leading local naturalists and historians as your leaders. Visit the Marine Mammal Center, a veterinary research hospital and educational center dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of ill and injured marine mammals.


• Explore the wilds and legends of Angel Island, the Ellis Island of the West, now a state park boasting fabulous views of San Francisco.
• Experience the biodiversity of Point Reyes as you walk along the coastal bluffs and look for marine mammals and spectacular seabirds.
• Develop an appreciation of John Muir’s legacy at Muir Beach and among the ancient redwoods of Muir Woods.

Activity Notes

Hiking 5-6 miles per day on trails and city streets. Elevation gains up to 800 feet.
