Road Scholar
Program #2299RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Take your art to a place you never dreamed possible as you paint in one of America’s most beautiful places. This class — conducted both indoors and outdoors — is designed for all levels of skill. Enjoy in-class demonstrations, lessons and exercises while you learn about composition, plein air painting, how to create luminous paintings and for those new to watercolor or wanting to review, learn the “basic techniques” of watercolor.

Highlights

• Your instructor, Sierra McKenna, is a nationally recognized artist with over 25 years' experience teaching watercolor and has been instructing this course since 2003.
• On two field trips to paint Sedona's scenic sites, explore the effect of the light, shadow and color of Sedona's brilliant red cliffs, spires and unique flora.
• Visit a few of Sedona’s famed local galleries to view and critique artwork in the company of your instructor.
