Road Scholar
Program #1144RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Discover why Sonoma County qualifies as sister region to France’s famed Provence. Luther Burbank’s chosen spot of all the earth for growing things produces much of the specialty food and fine wine served in its world-class restaurants. The county is home to the first commercial winery in California and boasts more than 200 wineries! Enjoy culinary demonstrations, samplings and recipes. Wine classes will feature history — and tastings! — to improve your discrimination and ability to pair wine with food.

Highlights

• Enjoy culinary demonstrations that introduce herbs, mushrooms and cheeses.
• Learn about specialty baking during a field trip to Costeaux French Bakery.
• Explore the vineyard and orchid garden of Raymond Burr Winery and visit the Korbel Champagne Cellars.

Activity Notes

Considerable walking and standing during field trips.

Coordinated by Bishop's Ranch.
