Program intended for grandchildren from 8 - 11 years of age.

In daily classes with your grandchild and a colorful professional chef and authentic Maine native, study basic cooking techniques and Down East culinary history as you learn to prepare meals from Maine’s regional repertoire, including seafood chowders and the Maine’s famed lobster. Conversations with local organic farmers and lobstermen offer new perspectives on Maine’s culinary favorites, and you’ll enjoy opportunities to sail aboard a authentic lobster boat and drop by Roosevelt International Park on Campobello Island. Fresh foods prepared by you, your grandchild and fellow participants grace the table at each evening meal!

• Enjoy Maine's Down East culture as you create memories and authentic Maine cuisine
• Small class sizes allow for lots of hands-on cooking time with our colorful chef, giving grandparents and grandchildren the chance to bond over nature’s best foods.
• Explore FDR's summer cottage on Campobello Island, go inside lighthouses and spot whales in the sea from aboard the lobster boat "Miss Patricia".

Program Notes

Program is for grandchildren ages 8-11.
Please note that a U.S. Passport is required to enter Canada and visit Campobello Island. Youths 15 and under do not need a passport but will need a copy of their birth certificate and a parental permission statement.

Activity Notes

Walking up to two miles over uneven terrain. Standing for 3-4 hours while cooking. Stairs and steep ramp to access vessels.
