See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Explore the magnificent upper Chesapeake Bay during the best sailing time of year! Team up with renowned musician and folklorist Geoff Kaufman for three days of sailing, music and history as you explore the largest estuary in America onboard the historic, 83-foot Mystic Whaler tall ship. Prior to embarkation, spend a day in Baltimore visiting one of the most impressive collections of military vessels in the world.

Highlights

• Help sail the ship by hauling on a halyard or simply relax on deck as the vessel glides along under wind power alone.
• In Baltimore, experience a comprehensive, expert-led walkthrough — fore and aft, spar deck to hold — of the USS Constellations, an authentic, mid-19th-century man-of-war.
• Explore the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum with an expert at historic St. Michaels and be treated to a private lecture on the museum’s historic watercraft collection.

Program Notes

You might also be interested in our other program aboard the Mystic Whaler in Mystic, Conn. For details, see “Mystic by Land and Sea” (Program #21176).

Activity Notes
