Road Scholar
Program #21389ENZ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Whether as a solo traveler or in a group of lifelong learners who explore at varying paces, experience the great Bay of Fundy Tides with hikes along local trails, by way of historical, cultural and literary sessions in the classroom — or through a combination of both learning styles. No matter which path you choose, reunite with the group in joint sessions devoted to the delightful traditions of Maritime food and music. Meet New Brunswick authors, musicians and artists, and marvel at museum exhibits and presentations detailing the story of the more than 500 sailing ships built and launched from St. Martin’s.

Highlights

• Experience the incredible Bay of Fundy Tides in person and walk on the ocean floor at low tide.
• Enjoy an evening with a local musician and a reading by a New Brunswick author.
• Learn about geological features and important fossil finds in the area that contributed to the region’s designation as North America's first Global Geopark.

Activity Notes

Participants choose indoor or outdoor activities, or a mix according to physical abilities. Walks average three miles over mostly level terrain. Optional ocean-floor walk uneven terrain.
