Road Scholar
Program #16791ENZ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
The Dodgers’ legacy is unlike any in baseball, from their storied days in Brooklyn to Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles — Casey Stengel, Don Drysdale, Sandy Koufax, Tommy Lasorda, Branch Rickey and Jackie Robinson. These “Boys of Summer” have been stepping up to the plate for spring training at Camelback Ranch Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., since 2009. See the defending National League West champs play four Cactus League games, study the sport’s history, meet a baseball scout, talk baseball memorabilia and enjoy a sing-along with the Arizona Diamondbacks organist.

Highlights

• Enjoy intimate ballparks and “America’s Favorite Pastime” during four spring training games and a batting practice session.
• Meet retired players and hear from a sportswriter on how he “reads and writes” the game.
• Go behind the scenes of a major league ballpark: Chase Field, regular-season home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Program Notes

Lunch on your own at the ball parks. Schedule permitting enjoy at least 3 games with your team, 4 total. For best seating, register by Dec. 1, 2013.

Activity Notes

Walking up to a ½ mile; stairs at ballparks. Games attended are dependent on Cactus League schedule, which is finalized in January.

Coordinated by Northern Arizona University.
