See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
In remote and beautiful Marble Canyon, enjoy varied hiking opportunities in a geologic wonderland. While on foot in this challenging terrain, be rewarded with infinite views as well as the hushed space of a twisting slot canyon. Hike hidden trails and explore off-the-beaten-path locations known only to local guides. Spend time on the Colorado River while connecting with nature and history in this storied landscape.

Highlights

• Hike to the Colorado River via sinuous Cathedral Wash canyon.
• Explore the Chocolate Cliffs, revealing outcrops of rare petrified wood and ancient rock art.
• Naturalists share knowledge of the canyon and interpret its geologic, natural and human histories.
Due to the nature of this program, listening devices are not available.

Activity Notes

Hike six miles daily on established trails and off trail over uneven terrain, high steps, desert vegetation, rocks with elevation change of 1,200 feet. Elevations 3,000-7,000 feet.
