Program #20265ENZ
7 Days | 6 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

“Real Housewives of the Bible" meet “A Few Good Men”
Deception, adultery, theft and intrigue... ancient housewives of the Bible come with a mix of good and bad. These women who shaped our modern world are the “Real Housewives.” But let’s not leave out the men! When it comes to Biblical heroes do we want our world simple and clean or can we wade into complicated waters of the heroic but flawed? You will be enriched by investigating our “Good Men” and “Housewives” with scholars who will shine light on some of our great housewives and heroes.

The American Jewish Story Through Cinema
Cinema is a valuable vehicle to gain understanding of social, political and cultural realities of Jews in America. In an industry influenced by Jewish filmmakers, the evolving nature of American Jewish condition has had an impact on how Jews are reflected on screen. Recently Jewish filmmakers have become more comfortable with their heritage and we are now seeing movies that spotlight Jewish protagonists and experiences. Our scholar will delve deeply into this Jewish experience in film and will screen films with discussion following.

The Pope’s Jews: A History of the Jews of Italy
“Italy has been two homes for the Jews: a troublesome place where, despite residence since the early days of the Roman Republic, they were frequently subjected to terror and oppression; and a modern country in which their civil status was exemplary and anti-Semitism all but absent” – Meyer Weinberg. Our lectures will survey Italian Jewish history from second century B.C. to the modern day.
