ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Enjoy a remarkable adventure into human consciousness to explore your mind’s role in holistic well-being. Amid the Southern charm and rich history of Georgia’s antebellum capital, Milledgeville, learn from health professionals at Central State Hospital how 150 years of medical experience has informed the modern model of mental health. Experts in the fields of psychology, kinesiology and music therapy will take you back to the earliest days of the mental-health discipline to demonstrate how we arrived at our contemporary understanding of what makes a mind healthy. Visit a local wellness center for insight into the connection between psychological well-being and physical health. Put it all into perspective by gaining insight into the history that surrounds you on an informative excursion to the Old Governor’s Mansion.

• Learn and practice low-impact wellness activities you can take home, such as water aerobics and chair yoga.
• Get introduced to leading-edge art- and music-therapy techniques clinically proven to improve cognition.
• Create an original music composition during music therapy sessions with your fellow participants.

Activity Notes
