ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Using a Chinese book of wisdom — “I Ching” — as the organizing principle, delve into a fascinating exploration of ancient and modern Chinese history, culture and arts. Also known as “The Book of Changes,” “I Ching” is one of the oldest classic Chinese texts and is essentially a book of wisdom that contains a system for predicting the future. It is centered on ideas such as the dynamic balance of opposites, the evolution of events as a process, and acceptance of the inevitability of change.

Highlights

• An outstanding Chinese scholar interprets how "I Ching" applies to the Prehistoric Han and Tang dynasties, and the Song and Modern periods, with an emphasis on the arts.
• An expert and student of “I Chang” for nearly 40 years leads the making of daily collage pages to make a personal book.
• A Chinese calligrapher illuminates daily sessions on basic brush strokes, words, poetry and composition.

Coordinated by Pilgrim Pines Conference Center.
