See all of our New programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Wish you remembered more of that college French? How about just enough to make traveling easier? Make your way to Quebec City to learn basic French vocabulary and phrases tailored for the traveler in a fun, relaxed way, with French Canada’s most charming city at your disposal for practice. In workshops and activities with local French speakers, learn how to use these tools to “get along” in French, even with shaky grammar, and apply what you’ve learned not only amid the Old World atmosphere of Old Quebec, but also in local markets on the Isle of Orleans and at towering Montmorency Falls.

Highlights

• Discover the true meaning of the French vocabulary found in everyday English — cul de sac, voila, déjà vu, à la mode, entrée, garage and more.
• Explore the rural aspects of Quebec on the Isle of Orleans and enjoy the products of the island at the Chocolaterie, a farm stand and an ice wine tasting.
• Revel in the ambience of a “House Party” — a fine Valcartier tradition — where you interact with local musicians and learn about the melodies unique to this area.

Program Notes

Program designed for beginners in French. Not suitable for participants already conversant in French.

Activity Notes
