Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Santa Fe, Taos and Albuquerque represent the best of northern New Mexico’s cities, contemporary lifestyles and natural diversity. The "Land of Enchantment" is epitomized by the past, present and future of these cities. Learn how they intermingled over the centuries, how they are similar and how they differ as you compare and contrast area food, culture and music while examining Spanish villages and regional pueblos.

Highlights

• Visit the state’s many museums to learn about the history and culture of New Mexico and to view stunning examples of Southwestern art.
• Step back in time on a trip to historic church El Santuario de Chimayo, known as the “Lourdes of America,” famous for the healing earth inside.
• A Native American guide leads you through Acoma Pueblo (Sky City), the spiritual and cultural hub of the Acoma people for 2 millennia.

Activity Notes

Walking up to one mile sometimes on uneven ground, standing for up to one hour. Elevations up to 7,200 feet which makes any physical activity more challenging.
