Blue Ridge Mountain Folklore
Identify the roots of Appalachian folklore in four categories: transplanted folklore; native folklore; history becoming folklore; and current folklore. Representative stories in all divisions, including “Jack tales,” tall tales, mountain versions of Grimm, Perrault, Chaucer, etc.), regional history/folklore and urban myths.

Commonalities and Differences in Theology and Practices Between Jews and Christians
Explore the religious/theological beliefs and practices that unite Christians and Jews as well as those that tend to divide the two groups. We thus try to understand each other better and explore possibilities toward advancing the Jewish-Christian dialogue.

Raoul Wallenberg and International Law
Explore the heroic life of Raoul Wallenberg in saving the Jews of Budapest, plus the 27-year effort of Human Rights Attorney Morris Wolff to rescue Wallenberg from the Soviet gulag, where he was held incommunicado after his kidnapping by the Russians from Hungary at the end of World War II.
