EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Join us for the ultimate Southwest adventure on a breathtaking journey to the iconic destinations of Arizona and Utah — Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Sedona, Zion and Bryce national parks. Learn about the geologic upheavals and eruptions, native cultures, explorers and settlers that give this part of the country its unique landscape and character. Traverse storied landscapes of multi-colored rock on the Colorado Plateau, experience the Navajo Reservation off-road in Monument Valley, and gaze up at Glen Canyon Dam from the Colorado River as you float the Canyon’s depths. Interact with Native Americans and take optional hikes at Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks.

Highlights

• Enjoy a Navajo-led 4x4 adventure into fabled Monument Valley and a smooth-water raft adventure on the Colorado River beneath 800-foot cliffs.
• Experience some of the Southwest’s best-loved landscapes in Sedona, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Bryce and Zion National Parks.
• Absorb the region’s essence as you learn about its geology, natural history, Native Americans, current issues and historical characters from John Wesley Powell to John Wayne.

Activity Notes

Daily walking up to one mile required, some sandy and rocky terrain. Elevations up to 7,000 feet.
