Road Scholar
Program #17411ENZ
4 Days | 3 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Expand your thinking in one of America’s foremost centers of learning and ideas. Led by experts, go behind the scenes to explore the architecturally distinctive campus of Yale, where Collegiate Gothic and strikingly modern buildings stand side by side. Beyond Yale’s ivied walls, experience New Haven’s historical and cultural resources, walk through the New Haven Green and gain an understanding of the complex town-gown relationship.

Highlights

• Learn about the 300-plus-year history of Yale, alma mater of five U.S. presidents and 19 U.S. Supreme Court justices.
• Explore superb museums including the Yale Center for British Art (the most comprehensive of its kind outside the UK) and the Yale University Art Gallery.
• Attend two performances of the International Festival of Arts and Ideas, one outdoors and one in a historic New Haven theater.

Activity Notes

Walking up to two miles a day, mainly on city sidewalks and paths.
