ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
The Grand Canyon bears the impact of millions of visitors who have come to enjoy its stunning beauty. Some visitors unwittingly bring with them the seeds of invasive plants, and park staff work diligently to promote and protect healthy, natural ecosystems in heavily visited areas. Assist park staff with their crucial efforts to ensure that the native plants of the Grand Canyon thrive. Remove exotic and invasive vegetation, collect native seed for future use, plant native species in heavy-use areas and help out in the park’s native plant nursery.

• Help preserve one of America’s most visited national parks for the enjoyment of future generations.
• Enjoy the camaraderie of enthusiastic Grand Canyon National Park staff and fellow volunteers who work alongside you and share your gratitude for this world wonder and its legacy.
• Gain an expert’s knowledge of the vegetation of the Grand Canyon while learning about endangered, invasive, native and little-known species.
