While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
American composers are among the most versatile, imaginative, and ground-breaking in the musical world. Join us to gain an appreciation of those who have been most influential, with the greatest impact on their colleagues and the public, including Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, Philip Glass, Charles Ives, and some of more recent generations such as Steve Reich and Michael Torke — all of whom have contributed to a distinctively American “voice.”

Highlights

• Marvel at the range of Bernstein’s talent and success in works such as "Candide," "West Side Story," "On the Town," and "Trouble in Tahiti."
• Explore other 20th-century American composers including Ives, Copland and Barber, known for their identifiable musical language, as well as the so-called minimalists who changed musical language.
• Delight in performances by Peabody artists and exceptional students
