EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

End of Program
Sep 27, 2013

You will be staying at the Monhegan Island Housing the night before.
Location: Monhegan Island
Type: Lodge

Description: Participants may stay in one of five different buildings on our campus, with facilities ranging from a two-person shared room and bath to a private cabin by the water. These buildings and on-site dining are reserved exclusively for participants in this program and island staff; the island is a private getaway location for all guests of "Birding Maine." Hog Island is a 330 acre wildlife sanctuary, with the camp buildings located on the northern 30 acres. Hiking trails circumscribe the entire island, following calm beaches and sharper rocky coastline. Another cuts through the spruce-fir forest of the interior island and passes by a diverse peat bog.
