ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.

Description: Clair Tappaan Lodge is a grand old building constructed of huge wooden beams and hand-cut stone. Sierra Club volunteers built the Lodge in the 1930's and volunteers continue to maintain it. A small, friendly staff cares for the guests. In keeping with the communal nature of the Lodge, guests are asked to choose a brief chore to do each day. Sleeping accommodations are simple - Bunk beds in rooms that vary from small, two-person cubicles to family rooms that can accommodate from 4 to 12 people, to larger men's and women's dorms.(You may request a lower bunk.) People gather here from all corners of the globe to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the multitude of nearby opportunities for outdoor adventure. After a full day outdoors they relax on one of the many open decks, in the cozy library or in the hand-built hot tub and enjoy each other's company without the distraction of television or other electronic gadgetry. They meet new friends around the dining room table, in the spacious comfort of the living room or around the evening campfire. They return home inspired by their Lodge experience, making plans to return once again in the very near future.
