Description: Ashland sits at the south end of the Rogue Valley, 2,000 feet above sea level. Mt. Ashland rises above to the south, and the Cascade Range lies about 30 miles to the east. Ashland is one of America's great small towns- with its wide boulevard, historic neighborhoods and varied gardens and parks. Lodging is on the park-like Ashland campus of Southern Oregon University in one of its newest dormitories, McLoughlin Hall. The university campus is one mile from downtown and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Room amenities: All of the rooms have climate control for both heat and air conditioning in each suite. You will be provided with a pillow, sheets, pillowcase, two bath towels, a washcloth, two blankets and a bedspread. Midway through each week, you will receive fresh towels and washcloth. Additional towels and washcloths are available upon request. Please bring toiletries (including soap, shampoo and any other bath items you will need), shower shoes (for Accommodation 2 rooms), alarm clock, laptop/tablet, and a cell phone (there are no computers or phones in McLoughlin Hall). Accommodation 1 Rooms: include private bedroom, private bath, and shared kitchenette/living room suite. Accommodation 2 Rooms: include private bedroom, shared bath with one other person, and shared kitchenette/living room suite.

Facility amenities: Each suite is equipped with bathrooms, a shared kitchenette and sitting area, and private bedroom areas. Suite and room layouts vary by double or single occupancy, private or shared bath. A relaxing lounge on each floor features comfortable seating. Telecommunication: Wireless internet is available in McLoughlin Hall. There are no telephones or computers available to participants in McLoughlin Hall. Please bring your own cell phone and laptop/tablet. There are public computers available at the Hannon Library across the street from McLoughlin Hall. A coin-operated washer and dryer are available - bring your own laundry soap or buy it in the Landing convenience shop in the Hawk Dining Hall building. Please bring your own hair dryer and other toiletries. There is an elevator in McLoughlin Hall that provides access from the ground floor (entry) to each floor.

Smoking policies vary by facility. During all group events and activities, smoking is prohibited.

Bathroom: Accommodation 1 rooms have a private bathroom. Accommodation 2 rooms share a bathroom with one other person.

Availability varies depending on date. Participants may stay one additional night before and/or one night after the program. Price range: $35-$85 per person/night, depending on occupancy and accommodation level. Meals are not included, but can be purchased on a cash basis from the campus dining hall next door. There is a gourmet grocery store across the street as well. For additional nights call SOU at 541-552-6375. Those wishing to stay longer should contact an area hotel directly.
