Road Scholar
Program #20134RJ
17 Days | 16 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This was my first tour with Road Scholar and I loved it. I went solo and felt welcomed by all in the group. This tour provided a good overall experience of Australia and I want to go back and take other Road Scholar tours in Australia.

The diversity of activities and experiences delighted me a thousand times more that I could have imagined!

Because this whole program is so 'user friendly', we look forward to more Road Scholar adventures beyond the four we have experienced.

A good view of Australia from the cosmopolitan cities of Sydney and Melbourne to the Outback and then the coastal city of Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef. The site coordinators and group leader exhibited enthusiasm for their country and its remarkable history. Martin Ludgate in Alice Springs and Uluru-Kata Tjuta was a walking encyclopedia of information on Aboriginal art, life style, cultural issues, animal life and fauna of Central Australia. All of the site coordinates had great informational handouts. Ngaire Douglas the group leader kept us busy with worksheets to expand our knowledge of Australian slang, unusual animals, foods, general information about the country and little known facts about what we saw. She encouraged us to reach out to others(both within our group and people we meet while touring) to answer the questions and expand our understanding of the unique citizens of Australia. I hope to return to see more of Australia.

If Australia is on your bucket list, this program will satisfy. Australia is an island continent with modern, contemporary cities and an arid outback. We experienced it all. The presenters were excellent and joined us on our field trips after the lecture. Every day was an adventure.

I will happily share your website with friends, my best recommendation.

Just back from a two-week odyssey in Australia which completely met my expectations as a 90-year old independent traveler. Great tour manager, local guides and lecturers, diverse locations and activities. Congenial group very inclusive with singles. Comfortable accommodations well located. All in all, great value offered for the price. Hilda, New York City
