Program #21644RJ
22 Days | 21 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

If "spiritual India" is what interests you, you can't do better than this trip: visits to all the places that put you in touch with this country's rich spiritual heritage and an exceptional guide to lead you. Don't miss it!

If you would rather be an explorer than a tourist..if you want to mingle shoulder to shoulder with the Indian people as they go about their daily lives..if you are hungry to see everything there is to see, uplifting and heart wrenching, beautiful and not so beautiful, exotic and mind bending, a tapestry of sound and color....this trip is for you. This has been the single most significant and life changing trip I have ever taken. If you let her, India will sweep you up, touch your heart and soul, and never let you go. Our group leader, Prakash Detha, was infinitely patient, knowledgeable, and deeply passionate about his country. He was flexible in adding "extra" experiences along the way to enhance the experiences of the group. The riverboat Rajmahal was elegant and a wonderful way to see life unfold along the River Ganges. If you are especially interested in gaining an understanding of the spiritual life and religions of India, you will love this trip.

This program is not to be missed for anyone interested in the religions and cultural diversity of India. The trip is well organized, to give participants a taste of city and rural life and to relax a bit on the Rajmahal. Our group leader was attentive and flexible, and made time for additional experiences which helped us to understand India's complexity.

This is a fast-moving, densely packed incredible experience. Our group leader was competent, warm, and extremely knowledgeable, who inspired my confidence and trust. I feel that I truly experienced the diversity and complexity of India, and for that I'm so grateful.

This was a fascinating program and well designed to introduce the participant to India, regardless of any previous visit. This was our second trip to India and, because it is a vast multicultural country we saw much that we hadn't seen on our prior Road Scholar trip. The riverboat Rajmahal was felt by those on our trip to be better than similar commercial river cruises in Europe due to its large cabins and bathrooms, its fine food and helpful staff and the significance of the Ganges.

Was great to be among the first participants of this wonderful program, which was truly a "Spiritual and Cultural Journey,"with thanks to our group leader.
