Program #10910RJ
9 Days | 8 Nights
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This trip provides you with the knowledge and culture of a series of islands that are beautiful and exotic. We enjoyed the excursions and they were of moderate or easy physical endurance. You will have a better prospective of this island paradise and realize the environmental responsibility we all have for others to enjoy the islands of Hawaii.

If you have never been to Pearl Harbor, this program is strongly recommended. It is not a sightseeing tour of Hawaii, although some of the field trips did provide a good glimpse of some Hawaiian features.

This was my 50th Road Scholar and I would rate it in the top three of them all! Our Leader, Claire, was extraordinary, and made our time in Hawaii memorable. I have already decided that I must go on another Road Scholar to Hawaii. It is so warm and beautiful, and the people are friendly and helpful. Thank you, Road Scholar people for such a well-planned adventure!!

Fantastic overview of Hawaii for a first timer. It's like being backstage at the Opera. We got insights into the history and culture .. Past and current of Hawaii .. That I did not expect and that will last forever with me,

The program gave me a new appreciation of the culture, history, geology and biology of the Hawaiian Islands. It was a very pleasant experience and an association with many interesting people that were a pleasure to be with.

This Hawaii program covered history plus culture, hands on activity plus interesting lectures, organized field trips/plus time for personal interest. Leaders took care of details and were available to give advice on additional activities on our own. I came away well satisfied that I gained some knowledge without it being a "school". It was fun.

Dave from Beatrice, NE Number of programs attended: 1

We enjoyed our Road Scholar trip to Hawaii called O'ahu and Maui:Experience the Essence of Hawai'i. We had a schedule of lectures by professionals and experts in areas of language, culture history, tradition and horticulture. We enjoyed field trips to lush tropical areas, desert areas as well as whale watching and museums. A very fun trip for those interested in learning about the islands as well as enjoying the beautiful Hawaiian weather!
