We did the Cuban trip by bus and by cruise ship in January. It was a two week immersion into Cuba. Very very fabulous. Can't say enough good things about this trip. Yes, Cuba is not an easy place to travel due to the lack of facilities but Road Scholar does and amazing job and their guides are fabulous.

Cuba was a wonderful country to have discovered, with warm, inventive and friendly people, and unique experiences and distinctive culture to be shared with our fellow travelers.

What a wonderful trip. Cuba is a beautiful and fascinating country. I loved the diversity of activities and places we visited. The community projects were particularly fabulous. Jocelyn was a wonderful a tour coordinator, I would highly recommend any trip led by her. The cruise portion of the trip was not as great as the land portion, not sure I would do the Cuba Cruise again. But I definitely want to return to Cuba for future visits.

A great and memorable experience; learned a lot about Cuba and its wonderful people and culture; group leader was very helpful and land guides, especially in the eastern part of Cuba, were great; the musical experience was outstanding; the food was average, actually much better than what the natives eat, thanks to our embargo; I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who want to learn about this island nation, only 90 miles from Miami

The most exciting and memorable experiences would be the People to People contact where we saw children engaged in art and cultural programs that was enriching their lives, those of the teachers and our lives.

This is a great time to go to Cuba--before it changes as it most certainly will in the next few years. This trip takes you to Havana for several days and to other important sites in the east. You'll see restoration projects in all stages. You'll see state owned/operated, joint state/private and now private enterprises. You'll cruise on the beautiful Caribbean and meet people from other countries. You'll interact with many Cubans and get their take on US/Cuban relations.

A trip to Cuba is an extraordinary experience, allowing one to see for oneself what that society is like. It is doubly extraordinary because of the People-to-People meetings, which provide the opportunity to sample the richness of Cuban culture and some of Cuba's institutions, such as an after-school program for at-risk children, a village clinic, a senior citizen facility, etc. Quite amazing.

Come to Cuba on this program if you want to learn about Cuban people and society. No one with an inquiring mind or and adventurous spirit will be disappointed. People to people contacts are the focus of the program. Our guide, Matija Radic, was excellent. This program offers an eclectic mixture of means of travels: by plane, bus, ship, bus, and plane again back to Miami. Go somewhere else if you just want a vacation, come to Cuba if you want to learn.

This was an exceptional program, combining bus and cruise ship, and graced with an extremely knowledgeable and passionate program director (Matija Radic) working closely with experienced and well-informed local guides. The program was ambitious, blending landmarks, history and local culture, with daily opportunities to meet Cubans of all ages, mainly in the Arts -- musicians, dancers, and other performers, wonderfully warm, talented and forthcoming individuals living struggling but productive lives. This program exceeded our expectations, and we recommend it to anyone interested in this fascinating and little-understood country. Bob & Marge from Bethesda, MD

We have been to many places on this planet but this recent Cuba trip was one of the best. Road Scholar did a remarkable job providing us with a chance to get a peek into the everyday life on this not-so-distant island. Our Leader Wendy was wonderful and the local guides knowledgable and very personable. We can't stop talking about the interesting person-to-person gatherings.

This program offered a unique blend of seeing Cuba during a bus tour as well as during visits to ports on a 5-night cruise around the island. Our people-to-people interactions allowed us to better understand the current situation as well as to hear Cubans’ view of anticipated changes. I felt privileged to have been able witness Cuba at a time just prior to what could be major changes as Cuba and the USA start diplomatic relations. Our Group Leader (Matija Radic) had an incredible knowledge of Cuba, and imparted it to us with clarity and humor. He was extremely capable at navigating the sometimes complicated and challenging logistics of getting around the country. The two local guides were also very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. The people-to-people interactions were extremely informative. We indeed felt like pioneers while taking part in this relatively new program. Highly recommended.

This program was fantastic. It outperformed my expectations. I was happy to finally have the opportunity to visit Cuba, and I believe that the Road Scholar program afforded me an experience of Cuba better than any other I could have had.

This was a most interesting trip especially at this time. Seeing more than Havana is important to get the flavors of the very different parts of Cuba. The leader and local guides were very knowledgeable and the bus drivers very good at navigating the narrow streets safely

My husband and I just completed "Cuba in Depth: A Grand Voyage Around the Island". It was a wonderful experience. We learned so much about life there from our local guides and our "People to People" encounters. I am so glad that we had the opportunity to visit the country.

Excellent 12 days touring and learning the cultural, historical and political background of this wonderful country. It is hard travel and one should be in good physical condition! It broadened my understanding of the past 50 years of Cuban history and made me hopeful that our two countries will resume more cordial relations soon. Both countries will benefit!

Upon completion of this trip, one will better understand the importance of ending the embargo so the lives of the Cuban people can move forward toward an improved standard of living. This Road Scholar program offers the participant a very comprehensive look at the daily lives of the Cubans. Elaine, a very competent program manager, will make sure that you will have a most enjoyable time during the course of your Cuban adventure.

This is an interesting and informative tour, but the program content can change without prior notice and the on-line description does not necessarily apply to each tour during the year. Although most of the activities advertised in the program materials do happen, there is no guarantee.

This land and sea adventure is a wonderful program. We saw a lot of Cuba, not just Havana, and got to see many aspects of life in Cuba thanks to the People to People program. The Cuban people are very friendly. Many people speak English and even with those who don't, our guides were there to help. It was really nice not to have to pack your suitcase every day. The ship, Louis Cristal, is very nice. The crew was very helpful and there were many activities for those days when we were at sea.

I would recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys a good time! Cuban people are warm, friendly, and very musically inclined. This trip lets you see that as well as how well they take care of the sick and elderly; educate the general populace; and allows you to see the musical "roots" of several generations. Good food, great social mix-ups and wonderful guides made this trip one of the best I've ever taken, and I've taken quite a few! A nice blend of local hotels & eateries combined with a few days on board the ship made for a great combination.

If you can get the administrative office in Brattleboro, VT to get your forms checked in and know what is what, you will be luckier than I and my wife were. I hope you don't have to fill out forms again that they have in their office.
