What an adventure!! I got muddy, filthy dirty, sooooo tired, had so much fun, learned so much, made good friends, loved every minute. And our leader Keith Edgerton brought the men of the Lewis & Clark expedition to life for us.

Get ready for a fabulous adventure, camping and canoeing in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark. Fabulous meals, accommodation, even the roughing in the tents couldn't have been better. This is real outdoor living. No facilities for 5 days. Depending on time of year be prepared for bugs and heat and possible rain on the trip. But it all just adds to the adventure. Be prepared for exteme mud all along the river (make sure your water shoes are tied on tightly or you may lose them !!) Prepare to be muddy and dirty and just loving it.

This was as an extraordinarily interesting and fun experience I could imagine. Such a magnificently beautiful river that could best be fully appreciated by having the 6 days we were on it. Such a delightful adventure. We were so well fed and taken care of. Perfect.

You probably can get a good idea of Lewis & Clark's accomplishments by reading their accounts and a few books. Actually getting on the river they traveled with an accomplished historian on for even a few days will greatly deepen that appreciation.
