Program #20083RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Excellent program! Great facilities, food and participants. Instructor was outstanding.

Melane from Ottawa, ON Number of programs attended: 4

Excellent program for beyond beginner participants. Handouts first class. Good balance of teaching and practice, and extra topics added for cocktail hour, which everyone attended. Most evening free time was used by participants to play informal games, as nothing much else to do at the site anyway. A few attendees were outclassed by the majority, holding us up sometimes. A few were more expert than the majority and might have got less out of the program than most of us.I would certainly attend another workshop by this instructor-fast, furious and FUN!

Marti is an amazing instructor. She is professional and definitely a fascinating Bridge expert. She presented the material so we could all understand it. She showed us information that I never would have thought of on defense and competitive bidding and play. I can't wait to take another class with Marti. Thank Road Scholar. You exceeded my expectations of this program.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the Adventures in Bridge week and its venue. Frankly, I expected something like camping out indoors. The "conference center", while not being the most up to date, was nevertheless charming, clean and comfortable. Food was wholesome and adequate (a nice change from fancy-shmancy). Marti and Gary were like Frick and Frack! She was a character to say the least and Gary was her straight man. Both were fantastic teachers and the combo was constantly entertaining. All in all, Judy and I will be back next year if all is well. Alan Cooper, Woodbridge CT. ps I played bridge with my Tues guy's group and was very pleased with my bidding and play. Thanks Ronemuses :>)

Wanting to give a positive vote for Bridge Boot Camp with Marti Ronemus at the Warwick Center in New York state. We loved the rolling 500 acre spot filled with fall colors. The lack of TV in the rooms ( provided us a lovely change to have quiet and time together). The lack of wi-fi in the room was a minor inconvenience that they say will be improved next year. Being in a rural setting allowed us to unplug from the life we live each day and we relaxed into the instruction, the food the dining room provided was adequate (even for us vegans), meeting interesting new people, practicing our bridge game and receiving the excellent instruction from Marti and Gary Ronemus. We are dreaming playing bridge now as we integrate our learning returning home. We will come back for another Boot Camp in the future. Anne & Edward from Connecticut

The Bridge experience was fantastic. Marti is a fantastic teacher who can present materials to players of all levels. She is knowledgeable, funny, accommodating, and has great control of the group.

Marietta from Springfield, NJ Number of programs attended: 7
Date attended: 08/11/13 - 08/16/13
Instruction was excellent and conducted with good humor. Thirty-two fellow participants were delightful. However, this venue should not be used again. Five first-time Road Scholars, who had flown in from the mid-west, said they would not travel again with RS due to the accommodations. I did not think I had to read the fine print when I read "Convention Center". In fact, it may have been called such in 1942 but not in 2013. Many participants had to walk around outside trying to get mobile phone connections; the only place I could get laptop connection was in a public room. Rooms, though clean, had no phones, clocks, TVs, etc. Dinner was over at 7 and for three of the five nights there was little to do except read and play (more) bridge. Charge a little more, RS, and provide a more up-to-date facility.
