Road Scholar
Program #21453RJ
10 Days | 9 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

A completely wonderful and enriching experience. Attractive, comfortable and spotless accommodations. Superb lectures by historians and authors. A tranquil setting...the lawns and gardens of St. Hugh's College. Pre-dinner drinks on the terrace. Gourmet meals in the lovely dining hall. Congenial and knowledgeable fellow travelers. John and Sylvia Harris, Ronnie Hall and Annette Barton...program director and group leaders ..the best!

This was my 34th Road Scholar program [I started when it was still Elderhostel] and have never been to a disappointing one. This was the largest in terms of participants, but still friendly and wonderful. It was thoroughly enjoyable, informative and rewarding in so many ways. Speakers were all outstanding!!!I look forward to more in future months and years.

I expected the great lectures, friendly and accommodating staff and fascinating tours. What surprised me were the comfy rooms and fine cuisine and service at St Hugh's College, Oxford. Next year's program is probably already full. When will 2016 open?

Barbara from Woodbine, MD Number of programs attended: 14

This was a great program that exceeded my expectations. The quality of the lecturers was apparent and made the whole experience that much more satisfying. I enjoyed the question and answer periods after the lectures as well. The excursion to Blenheim was delightful. Great value!!

Fred from Marblehead, MA Number of programs attended: 8
Date attended: 09/13/14 - 09/22/14
I completely endorse everything that "Rea from Woodland Hills, CA" mentions in her review. And I would especially like to add my personal thanks to Ronnie who went above and beyond the call of duty to "brilliantly” bail me out of an unexpected problem in getting from the hotel to Heathrow airport. It is customary to rate almost everything these days with stars- with 5 being the maximum. To me his program and the staff rate 6-stars.

Rae from Woodland Hills, CA Number of programs attended: 1

(with exceptional weather) Special thanks to John and Sylvia, Ronnie and Annette, who keep things going and met every challenge with grace, humour, and an element of seriousness when required.I am looking forward to my 2nd trip with Road Scholar!
