Generally it was a great program. Our guide Rikki Thompson did a great job and adjusted to our interests. The food tour was heavy, but still a good idea with some adjustments. They should have offered lighter gluten free options, especially for the dessert. My wife asked and they did provide fruit for her. The cold breakfast was below standards. They had very few gluten free options and it should have been a hot breakfast. Parking should have been included in the program for those with a car.

This program was delightful. On our own we would have never learned and experienced as much as we did with Road Scholar. Rikki is an extraordinary leader. He is very knowledgeable and personable, and we were impressed by the fact that he knew all our names and called us by name often. One of our highlights was the Milwaukee Public Museum. We enjoyed it so much that we spent an extra day in the city so that we could return to it. Our accommodations were lovely, and we could not have had a better location. My husband and I highly recommend this program.

This program was all a signature city program should be! The participants had a chance to be exposed to historical Milwaukee with visits to the North Point Lighthouse and the Milwaukee Historical Society - the latter being an amazing renovation of a glorious historical building. The food tour of the city was a bit heavy and over done for my taste. There are times when less REALLY is more! The Milwaukee Public Museum was amazing - I could have spent a couple of days there! The narrated sightseeing cruise of the Milwaukee River and Lake Michigan were a nice change of pace. The next day was a mixture of history and food - what could be better? We toured the Pabst mansion - an amazing place - with a delightful docent. On we forged to an in-town creamery that makes artisan cheeses - and I finally got to taste my fill of cheese curds! We had a nice lunch, saving room for the famous frozen custard promised us. It turned out to be delicious - a bit more custardy that the local Dairy Dip product. We finished he day at the Best Place Tavern at the Pabst Brewery. Our last full day was spent at Marquette University, visiting the Haggerty Museum and the Joan of Arc chapel. After lunch in the school cafeteria - where food selections were far different from my memories - we explored the Grohmann Museum. We closed out the day with a four course dinner at one of Milwaukee’s iconic German restaurants. Our accommodations at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown were lovely, and the staff among some of the most helpful folks anywhere ever!

Milwaukee is a very interesting city to visit. It has a facinating history, many monumental buldings, schools and museums. It has a remarkably beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline and park and a stunning new Art Museum building.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the city of Milwaukee. It is a very interesting city. The down town river walk area is alive with hotels, shops, and restaurants. The lake front is beautiful with parks, and the amazing Art Museum. I found it fascinating to see how the city is rebuilding and redefining itself.
