CHALLENGING is the correct classification for the M,W,F summit treks. The T,Th recovery activities were fun...and welcome. Guides were superb...as they all have been for my previous 20 RS programs. --- Hotel breakfast needed more healthy choices.

Patsy from Northfield, MN Number of Programs attended: 1 Date attended: 08/02/15 through 08/08/15 This program not only met my expectations but exceeded them!Gradual acclimatization throughout the week while building endurance provided a personal "ah-ha" moment culminating in the view and exhileration of climbing a 14er. Waterfalls, wildflowers, and wildlife inspired me along with accompaniment of awesome guides Ryan, Mark, and Shara. Comraderie of new friends helps transcend this experience into new adventures!

This was a challenging program. Hiking 14ers is an arduous task and takes preparation and trust in the guides and your equipment. The guides Ryan, Chris and Dan on the last day did all they could to help us get to the top. My wife and I being flatlanders had a very hard time with the altitude and 3 days was not enough to get acclimated.....a week would have been better. However, we did accomplish 2 of the 3 climbs and even though they were very hard, it was a great feeling of accomplishment when we stood at the top of Mt Sherman in the snow and Mt Bierstadt in the sun! the Zipline on Thursday was very much fun as was the trip in the woods and to the mine. The group of 11 was a great group and we enjoyed each other and helped each other along the trail. All in all, this is a trip to never forget. It was demanding and tough and hurt, but there were also many small victories along the way and the beauty of the high Rockies is beyond words or pictures.

This is a wonderful programme: do yourself a favour and enrol for it immediately: the hiking, scenery, flowers, excitement level and guidance are all top notch. You will be appropriately prepared to climb a 14er and then be able to brag to all of your friends about your amazing stamina. The three guides we had were amazing and the feeling of accomplishment will last forever.

Date attended: 08/17/14 - 08/23/14
An outstanding experience with guides, Ryan, Dan and Chris of Mountains & Plains. The program is physically demanding as described. My wife and I enjoyed every bit of the program; the food was excellent and the atmosphere with other members was very friendly. We learn a lot about people, mountains, forests, ice climbing, rivers and flowers. We will definitely consider other adventures with Road Scholar. Thanks to Ryan, Dan and Chris. No doubt about the challenging rating. This was physically demanding! It was an amazing experience, with caring, supportive and attentive group leaders who helped each participant get the most out of the trip. Very well organized, nice lodging, fabulous meals.
