This trip takes you to a very rural beautiful area of Maine. The outings were to interesting historical sites. The sleeping and van traveling accommodations were clean but not as comfy as home. They do fit the experience of being in this rural area. Cooking classes 4 hours a day with excellent chefs. Great fun. Great group. Enjoyed our own meals with wine. I gave it a 10!

I enjoyed learning about the Downeast area of Maine which is significantly different from the Portland area where I live. The day excursions with Tessa and Jeanne were very interesting and I learned a lot about the local economy, especially fishing. The trip to Campobello with the Tea with Eleanor was enlightening and made 'The Roosevelts' much more understandable. The daily cooking was an adventure, with our wonderful chef setting up groups, giving us recipes and away we went. She visited each group dispensing wisdom throughout our execution, and the finished dinners were amazing. A great trip!

This is a really great program. The cooking classes were great, and so were the daytime activities learning about the history and culture of the area.

History, food and culture and hands on learning along with a couple of unexpected surprises made this program one of my favorites of the ten RS programs I have been to---so far.

If you like cooking and being near the water, this program is for you. Never having been to Maine before, I left with a new appreciation of the beauty of the area and an appreciation for the many friendly people living there. The views from our chef Audrey's Blueberry Point on the Passamaquoddy Bay are breathtaking. Seafood is fresh and delicious. Eastport is a delightful town that lobster and art lovers alike will enjoy. Jeannie, our guide, gave us great history of our surroundings, and our stay at Kilby House was the icing on the cake.
