ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Had a great time and met some wonderful women. Guest speakers were fantastic, knowledgeable, encouraging and fun. Shared stories, walked on sandy beaches, watched glorious sunsets and ate massive amounts of food... what is better than that! Carol and Lynn are fantastic "hosts" and I encourage everyone to come visit the Oregon Coast -- you won't be disappointed.

For a first program, I don't think I could have made a better choice. The accommodations were wonderful with all rooms with an ocean view, fabulous meals, and fun and informative field trips. The presentations by the local authors were informative and inspiring. And Carol Usher is marvelous as the coordinator. She is warm, open and friendly and always attentive to all. And most of all, the group of women in attendance were the best! I could not have been more pleased with this program.

First of all, you can't get a better ocean view of the Oregon coastline than what you get at the Inn at Spanish Head. That's because the Inn is right on the beach, literally, and every single room has a spectacular view. Wow. Just wow. Secondly, Carol and Lynn Unser, the coordinators, do a spectacular job of mixing lessons on the natural history of the Oregon coast, jaunts out to see the wonders of the coastal environment, as well as hands-on writing workshops and presentations by local authors. The presenters were fantastic. Plus, Carol even offered one evening session with a local yoga teacher. If I sound like I'm gushing, that's because I am. Solid five stars.

The beauty of the Oregon coast, the inspiration of fellow participants & the creative sessions by the program staff exceeded the expectations of this first time "scholar"! Can't say enough wonderful things about the program provider, Carol, and writing guru Barbara. A week of writing, exploring & fun not long forgotten.
