My wife and I still talk up this program to our friends. I echo the others' sentiments about the importance of this park area to the local history and ecology. Lodgings were fine, and our guides were exemplary. I highly recommend this program.

Who knew that such an important ecological and historical environment existed around the Road Scholar program site at Giant City State Park in southern Illinois? The days flew by as we visited nearby spots to see how humans have impacted the life and land in this appealing area of Illinois. Excellent program leadership and curious participants made this an excellent and enjoyable learning experience for me. We had fun too!

Being a life long resident of Illinois, the leaders of this program brought out so many interesting facts about southern IL that were new to me. Their knowledge of the terrain, wildlife including wildflowers, birds and animals made this trip exceptional.
