See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

this program was accurately described. Easy, very informative, covered a variety of subjects and presented by knowledgeable and professional directors and instructors. I learnt about New York Finger Lake region in true 3D.

Jenny Monroe, the trip leader, is a gem! Her knowledge spans a wide range and her presentation is delightful. Everything worked smoothly, too. Accommodations were a little rustic, but perfectly comfortable and clean. Food was plentiful as well as tasty. Kitchen was responsive to special requests, too. The program mix was ideal, and the scenery in the Finger Lakes region is gorgeous.

If you like air travel, don't miss the Glenn Curtiss Museum and talk to the men who volunteer there to recreate the old aircraft. They make them, then have flown the recreated AMERICA! She is beautiful.

Kerri from Halifax, PA Number of programs attended: 5
Date attended: 09/29/13 - 10/04/13
Jenny made this event more than interesting. She is a master story teller, passionate about her community, its history, and the arts, and a stickler for details. The lecturers at this event were excellent speakers and kept us on the edge of our seats. The staff at the watson homestead were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. This was a very enjoyable experience!

This particular program was a good one for our first Road Scholar trip because of the variety of things to do--learning, hiking, museum visiting, and wine tasting. It was an information-packed program that was also a lot of fun, lead by an exceptional group leader!

Linda from Arlington Heights, IL Number of programs attended: 1

We truly enjoyed this trip. We learned so much about the Finger Lakes area. Thanks to all the planners, leaders, and instructors.

Ann from Washington, DC Number of programs attended: 12
Date attended: 07/28/13 - 08/02/13
This program really is a sampler of the Finger Lakes. My favorite activities were Watkins Glen Gorge and State Park, wall climbing (optional), Jenny's tour of Corning, Corning Hot Glass Show, Curtis Museum and lecture beforehand, Seneca Lake Cruise, Pleasant Valley and Frank wine tastings, and Jenny's presentations on Mark Twain. Jenny Monroe is an exceptional group leader. Her organizational skills are beyond comparison. She really makes this a great program. The listening devices are the best ever. Also, Jenny used the listening devices in the classroom and for introductions - not just for field trips. That was very helpful for many participants.
