This was our first walking RS trip and was a great one. Manuele was one of the best guides we have had.

This was an absolutely wonderful week. Just the right amount of hiking, eating and making new friends. The places we visited were interesting and beautiful. Our guide was fabulous. Hotel Italia in Foligno was just the right kind of home base for the week. Cozy and friendly with lots to explore in the town. I highly recommend this trip!!

Walking the Hill towns of Umbria with new friends was an experience I will never forget. The details of the trip were handled with ease by our leaders and we enjoyed ourselves all along the way. Many thanks to all my fellow travelers and to Manuele and Katerina, our fearless leaders.

This was a wonderful program. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I found it physically challenging and feel good about being able to do the hiking despite the unexpected heat. Umbria was beautiful and unspoiled. I had knowledgable, approachable guides and friendly companions.

Overall, this was a perfect trip! The Umbria region is a beautiful setting with small medieval towns perched on hilltops, olive groves, vineyards, farms, mountains, and tons of history, art, culture, and religion -- all packed into a very active 8 day walking tour. The friendly guides made it interesting and memorable, and the small group (17) was cohesive and just right to explore all of the back roads, mountain trails and small town streets. I especially loved the Truffle Farm on the mountain (and the farmer's knowledge and hospitality taking us truffle hunting). Each day was a new adventure! Consider this trip if you want to enjoy a more laid back Italy without the tourist crowds.

"Walking the Hill Towns of Umbria" is a program in which most people could find a great deal of interest. I recommend it highly to anyone who is in fairly good condition, enjoys a good hike, and is eager to learn about the quaint but picturesque and interesting towns of Umbria. The website does a splendid job of accurately explaining the tour, and preparing the participant for what they will experience on the tour.

This is a great outdoor experience with delightful medieval towns to visit, plus beautiful hikes through the Umbrian hills. It is physically challenging and will be more enjoyable if you have done some serious mountain/hill walking to train for it. Our group leader, Tiziana, was key to making this a fun, informative and friendly experience. The Hotel Italia was friendly, authentically Italian, and had great food.

I thought it was a great trip! Tiztiana was wonderful! Kathyrn and Francesca were great also. Would have like more short talks, lectures on places we were visiting, etc. Audiophones would have great--we had them with the monk in Assisi and I find them very helpful! Hotel was lovely--food good better as the week went on-especially the sea bass. I really liked the truffle hunt! Cathie Crute Portland Maine

I liked the program very much. I wouldn't have necessarily included the truffle hunt. I think another activity would have done just as well. The food was fabulous! A couple of days I had a hard time keeping up and I thought I was in reasonably good condition. Perhaps it should be labeled "challenging." But that's just my opinion. I'm sure others found it not so challenging.
