"Following in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark" is a trip we will treasure as one the BEST experiences with Road Scholar!!! The 17 days exceeded our expectations with every need being met! The excellent guides (Mary Jean, Tom, Roger, George, Ritchie, Deb) the journal information, the interpretive centers, the motels and food, listening devices, the monitors and the library onboard the bus...all enhanced the trip. Even snacks and naptime! Well done Road Scholar!!!

This was my favorite Road Scholar trip. Excellent sites, leaders and fellow participants contributed to the fun and learning. Months after the trip, I'm still repeating stories I heard from local historians. The trip gave me a much better understanding not just of the Corps of Discovery, but also of the native Americans they met along the way. I highly recommend this trip.

Yes, this was an amazing journey both for us and the corps of discovery 210 years ago. To actually see the areas they went through, be there, while listening to their story along the way was great. The leaders of this group were able to set a light hearted and fun atmosphere in which to learn and enjoy and bring our group together in a very positive way. So happy to have had the experience.

The trip 'On the Road: Following in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark' was wonderful. I had no idea there were so many interpretive centers along the Lewis and Clark Heritage Trail. Each state seems to take pride in sharing their role in the original trip. I was very happy to finally achieve my dream of following along with Lewis and Clark from a '200 years later' perspective.

Social Studies teachers across the nation (and thus their students!) could truly benefit from following in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark. Anyone willing to sponsor a "scholarship" for an educator to experience up close and personally what it took for the Corps of Discovery to explore and document these "potential" states west of the Mississippi? This person could then develop a curriculum for elementary, middle school, or high school to share in their state and beyond.(Maybe present something at a regional or national teachers of Social Studies conference?)

This program was delightful! We had some reservations about its length, but it was so well done, that the time just flew. Our hats are off to you. We had exceptional people presenting this program! Jim & Elaine Henson Geneseo, Illinois

The Lewis and Clark program was excellent in all respects. It was paced well, well prepared and presented. Tom Laidlaw is an excellent instructor using wonderful techniques in presenting his material. Roger Dammarell was friendly, organized and never fazed by the requests of the program participants. We had a delightful group of co-travelers who got along wonderfully: they were a joy to be with. Wed hope that future Road Scholar trips will meet the very high standards set by this program.
