This was a great trip with great staff of photography instructors, John and Vanita Boyd, and group coordinator Glenda Gilreath. John and Vanita gave good tips on what and where we were shooting and how to get best results for the particular location. This was very helpful to me since Yosemite is a very different landscape than I usually shoot. Lodging at ECCO was a very nice church camp atmosphere and certainly more than adequate. I would recommend this trip for the photographer at any level from point and shoot up.

Great program for anyone interested in photographing the majestic beauty of Yosemite! Our instructors, John and Vanita Boyd, and our leader, Glenda Gilreath, were knowledgeable and talented photographers. They made themselves available to offer assistance and answer questions, all in a kind and friendly manner. The accommodations were comfortable, although the food was a little lackluster compared to other programs I've done. As always, the participants were great - a fun and lively group! All in all, a wonderful way to see one of our stunning national parks.

Judy from Granbury, Texas Excellent program! John and Vanita Boyd were great photo instructors and Glenda lead the program and activities with good organizational skills. She is also a photographer, so they all made a great team! All three of them are so familiar with the area that this adds to the experience! The accomodations were comfortable.

The absolute best part of this program is the opportunity to photograph Yosemite with a couple and leader who have spent most of their lives photographing in this area. John and Vanita Boyd took us to both iconic locations for shots of El Capitan and Half Dome as well as little know, out-of-the-way locations that provided great reflections of these majestic scenes. Advertised for photographers of every level (beginner to advanced) the material and lecture were suitable to meet the needs of the less advanced photographer. John, Vanita and Glenda Galreath took special care to answer all questions, to move about the group to insure that everyone was shooting to their best advantage and assisting those who were more knowledgeable with one-on-one instruction. The facilities at the conference center were comfortable and the meals and snacks provided more than adequate nutrition. The cost of the program was reasonable. I would recommend "Photograph Yosemite" to anyone interested in an opportunity to create beautiful memories of Yosemite National Park. Kathleen Allen

We have attended about 8 RS photographic programs and this one was the weakest of them. It should be labeled a new photographer program as John gave the most basic of info on Monday morning and then the rest of the day sent us out to photo with the promise to get together after lunch to go over...but he did not call us back to do that. It was typical of the disorganization of the trip. Very nice people and he took us to some fantastic spots, but did not provide the type of instruction that I would have wanted, nor did he know how to operate anything but the Nikon he used. The Canon folks and others were left to figure it out for themselves.

This was my first Road Scholar experience -- and a great beginning!! Photographing Yosemite -- what a majestic place!! which was made more accessible and remarkable with guidance from John and Vanita Boyd and Glenda Gilreath. Thanks also to the wonderful, friendly group participants! My husband and I are now using Lightroom and working with RAW photographs. And reading about more Road Scholar opportunities!! Dorothy

Photographing Yosemite had been a lifelong dream and this program gave me an opportunity to fulfill it. However, it was so much more, the program staff ensured that the experience filled the needs of each participant regardless of their individual skill level. And, there was a big plus, the evening programs in art, history and a great discussion about very photogenic birds of prey were entertaining and educational. Combine this with a good location, great facilities and food, and you have a dynamite program!

Ruth from Eugene, OR Number of programs attended: 7

The trip covered all levels of photography. The leaders and helpers were always there for us when we needed them. My wife and I were taken to places within Yosemite National Park to photograph that we had not experienced before and came back with some stunning pictures.
