Program #19390RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

We took the February San Diego Cultural Gems trip and it was very good. This is our 3rd Road Scholar trip and it certainly upheld the high standards of this organization. I enjoyed learning about San Diego and visiting the sites, but I must admit that the culinary presentation/experience on the last day was the high point. What a treat (literally). The hotel was great, but I wonder if it might have been nice to stay at a little more central hotel. But I didn't get the feeling that there was a true "central" area (i.e. what would you pick -- Balboa Park area, Old Town, Downtown, Gaslight???). A good trip that is well worth taking.

I just returned from 2 back-to-back programs in San Diego and learned so much more about the area than I knew before. It was a GREAT experience and I enjoyed getting to know others from many different parts of the country. Looking forward to my next adventure! Irene from Pennsylvania

We did this program "back to back" with the "Toast to San Diego" program and found that combining the two gave us a really good experience of what San Diego has to offer. This program provided a nice combination of lectures, guided visits and free time in some wonderful areas of San Diego. The speakers, docents and walking tour guides were entertaining and passionate about their topics. Obviously planned with thoughtful care, this program should be on your "Wish List"!
