Road Scholar
Program #17306RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderately Challenging
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

My husband and I were not certain how this journey would work for us and our grandson. We all had a wonderful time; our grandson was especially interested in the flowers and birds. Mr. Harry was very accommodating in answering his questions. We loved seeing our grandson enjoy himself.

We just returned from Yellowstone with our 10 year old grandson. We all had a fantastic time! The leaders were top notch, knowledgeable, patient and affirming. It was a perfect blend of education and fun. The highlight was seeing so many animals. No, it was the white water rafting. No, it was the horseback ride. No, it was Old Faithful. No, it was....all great!!

My grandson and I really enjoyed this program. For us, the rafting was the highlight of the program. Lee and Rich were excellent leaders. Lee was wonderful with the kids, who could really be a handful at times. I would have preferred smaller crowds at the geysers and the travertine areas, but that is Yellowstone in July. We would have enjoyed an option of longer, more challenging hikes, but other programs in Yellowstone offer that. I have greatly enjoyed all five of the Road Scholar programs I have attended during the past couple years.

This program, the setting, the leaders and staff, food and accommodations are all excellent! I am so pleased this was my first Road Scholar experience. Please warn new participants to tuck some neoprene, long underwear, and a warm jacket into your suitcase. It can get very cold. All in all, it was a wonderful time.

A well organized and enjoyable program. It was a chance to see and learn about our National Park Treasure. It was presented in a fashion that all could enjoy. Particularly like the rafting with Flying Pig and the stories told to make history come alive.
