If you want to see and experience Las Vegas in a new way - this is the program for you. Learn from those that do not just talk about the topics they teach.

This program revealed things not available to general tourists. It was well-organized and very enjoyable.

Ruth from New York, NY Number of programs attended: 8
Date attended: 10/19/14 - 10/24/14
This program is good for people who have never been to Vegas as it offers a lot of in formation about the city. You are taken on tours almost every day and lectures are quite informative and not the usual just history and geography, but human interest stories which you will enjoy. Especially if you are into entertainment.

Great time had by all. You don't have to enjoy gambling in order to enjoy this trip.

This program was fabulous. Rich in educational content and experiences. Our guide was very personable and added interesting tidbits all along the way while taking excellent care of us. Program is organized and efficient. I would recommend this program for anybody - regardless of your past experience and opinion about Las Vegas. You will get a glimpse of the history and heartbeat of this city. I LOVED this tour.

Wonderful program. Terrific instructors who knew their subject well and were always willing to answer questions. Just the right mix of lectures and field trips.

This program has lots of diversity: ARTS Two shows one old -show girls one modern Cirque du Soleil KA plus a backstage tour, EDUCATION 3 lectures: history, gaming and security, OUTDOORS Red Rock canyon and the Neon museum - we also went to Hoover Dam during our free time, plus the Mob Museum was great. Harrahs location was fantastic on the Strip that is its best feature. Plus one day off the Strip in the Fremont Street - the old downtown. Pacing was good with indoor, outdoor, walking and sitting. Free time in the evenings on days without shows so you can do whatever you like to do in Las Vegas.

I really enjoyed this program. All of the learning sessions were interesting. Nathan was always helpful and knowledgeable.
Harrahs is just OK, but it is centurally located. Please think about upgrading this program for rooms with coffee makers. I did not enjoy KA, I prefer lighter Cirque performances. It was visibly stunning though. Sorry we did not see Jubilee, after enjoying the backstage tour.
Met some very nice people. It was interesting to learn their backgrounds and how many Scholar's tours they have been on.
I will take more.

Very interesting program- learned so much about the "mob" influence on Vegas and the tour backstage at Bally's Jubilee was awesome- did not enjoy the second show, KA, but I am sure others did. All in all a very worthwhile program although I thought a little costly.

This was my first Road Scholar experience and I'm hooked! Although not a gambler, I'm curious (nosy) and wanted to see Las Vegas from the inside out. The program gave me a fascinating look at everything from the history to the behind-the-scenes workings of this amazing place. And the group participants were all intriguing people with remarkable backgrounds of their own! Our leader, Nathan, managed very skilfully to make this trip informative yet enjoyable (yes, even with the groaner puns)!

Amazing how much we saw and learned in such a short few days. This program is a great mix of learning and entertainment, classrooms and field trips. I recommend it to anyone interested in spending time in the warm sunshine getting to know Las Vegas, both the Strip and beyond.

Jerome from Wilmington, NC Number of programs attended: 1

The educational and recreational opportunities were excellent. The leader, Nathan, and the faithful bus driver, Greg were both first rate. We were disappointed by a cancelled lecture. The substitute visit to Container Park was fun but did not make up for the missed talk. I think Harrah's has seen better days. It seemed a bit tatty in in spots. Jerome Nolan

The Las Vegas program which explained the gambling and hotel industry as well as the history of Las Vegas had something to offer to everyone. It included outdoor experience, free time to visit Hoover Dam, interesting and thought provoking lectures and quality evening entertainment. Worth every penny we spent.

David from Mesa, AZ Number of programs attended: 1

The instructors were so knowledgable in their area of expertise and conveyed this material exceptionally well.

Isabel from Lexington, MA Number of programs attended: 28

Everything about this Roads Scholar experience in Las Vegas trip was delightful. It exceeded my expectations because I am not a gambler but I enjoyed learning the history of Las Vegas from fascinating instructors. The shows and museums were engaging. My dislike of the smoky casinos is my only criticism but they did hot ruin my overall satisfaction with the trip.

Our recent trip to Las Vegas (entertainment Las Vegas) was great. We saw many new things and learned new things about that interesting city. The Mob Museum and the Neon Museum were certainly interesting and well organized attractions. The docent at the Neon Museum was a delight and certainly dressed for her assignment.

Corazon from Saddle River, NJ Number of programs attended: 2

As a first time visitor to Las Vegas, the program provided a convenient way to learn about the city. My husband and I liked the lectures, the field trips, the food, the performance; best of all, we had the best guide, Nathan Bassing, who facilitated and made it all enjoyable.
