Road Scholar
Program #6091RJ
7 Days | 6 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderately Challenging
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

If you want to have fun, sign up for this program! I believe we enjoyed only the best golf instruction, golf courses, area history and geology lectures. The food was good with a different and interesting resturant each day. What made this such a great program? All of the top notch organizers, instructors, lecturers and our own private guide, Paul Peterson. Of course none of this would have been possible without all of the participants (Road Scholars)and the many new friends we all made in Saint George. I may have to repeat this course again. Hope to see you in St. George!

All of the five golf Road Scholar programs I have attended have been excellent, but this was the best in terms of instruction. The ratio of instructor to student was small enough to get lots of individual help but not too intense as it can be with private instruction. The golf program did indeed work with all skill levels effectively. The food was also better than other golf programs and the geology education and hiking experience made a great balance for the week. Our co-participants were a lot of fun and we even met another couple we had been on a previous RS golf program with a few years ago.

Of the 5 golf programs we have attended, this was our favorite. The instructors were excellent and the golf courses were beautiful and fun to play. The leader was exceptional, the best of the 5 programs. The food was also the best. We would highly recommend this program and may even repeat it at some time in the future.

This was a wonderful experience. Well organized and a great opportunity to learn about the area and best of all, some great golf tips. This was a first for me.

What a great experience! I especially enjoyed the leadership we had on this trip. I hope to repeat this same program with Roads Scholars.

This was an excellent program for golfers and added bonus was the great tours thru Zion National Park.

Denise from Redcliff, AB Number of programs attended: 4
Date attended: 10/21/13 - 10/27/13
This was a great program, it doesn't matter if you have very little golf experience. Within one day I felt that I had made a whole group of great new friends all willing to help me on those beautiful golf courses.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first trip which was a golf vacation to St. George, Utah. I would highly recommend this experience.

If you love to play golf and enjoy outdoor scenery this trip is for you. The golf instruction was excellent and the golf courses we played were so beautiful. We also visited Zion natural park with a geologist and had a very amusing lecture about the settlement of St. George, Utah. If you like a night cap bring your own wine or beer--most of the restaurants are dry.

Betsy from Bel Air, MD Number of programs attended: 9

Loved it! Beautiful surroundings, knowledgeable instruction, comfortable lodgings, great food in local restaurants. All this with a fun leader. What's not to like??

There are not enough superlatives to describe this Road Scholar program. The instruction, location, accommodations, food and supplemental field trips are superb.

Robert from Ashland, OR Number of programs attended: 6
Date attended: 03/04/13 - 03/10/13
I really enjoyed this program. We had a small group (11) and I think that worked very well for us. I cannot imagine doing this program with the 24 people allowed. Paul and Kristy are great coordinators. The main golf instructor, Doug, was very good. And the two evening classroom instructors, one on local history and one on geology, were highly informative as well as entertaining. Mixing in a day-long field trip to Zion was a great break in the action, especially since it rained that day. St. George, as a town, was a disappointment (too big-boxy and fast-foodish) but the surrounding area and physical setting is astonishing. If you're into hiking at all this is a great place to be. The golf courses we played on were fun and challenging, all the while being surrounded by stunning views of Vermillion Cliffs and snow-capped mountains!
