The intergenerational program at Trees for Tomorrow in Eagle River, WI, at the conservation camp/old CCC site, is incredible. The 23 of us (9 kids ages 10-12) bonded, learned, played, paddled, hiked, made great t-shirts, started a fire in the rain, learned how to read a compass, saw the raptors, etc. This is my 3rd time at this site. Sharing it with my 10 year old grandson is something I have been wanting to do for years. I love Trees, the staff, and the experience. I am looking for another adventure for next summer. Please, here is a chance to really get to know your grandkid. I strongly recommend you start at the first possible chance with the intergenerational opportunities because you will definitely want to do more. I am a retired school guidance counselor and if I had a chance and lots of money, would send more kids to do this. If you don't have grandkids, borrow one. Peace, Ronna Swift Appleton, WI

A top program. High activity level was super and the inter-gen opportunities were outstanding. The staff knew their areas and were always available to help when needed.

I have taken our grandson to this program twice. He loved it both times because of the diversity of activities - archery, canoeing, fishing, and swimming. The staff is very knowledgeable and great educators. They make the learning process fun for both grandparents and grandchildren. I am looking forward to bringing my granddaughter next year when she is of age. This is a great opportunity in a beautiful location!

This was my first Road Scholar trip. The Trees For Tomorrow staff was just wonderful. The facilities were rustic but nice, food was suprisingly good (I was expecting dorm food) with fresh fruits, vegetables and vegetarian selections at every meal. Equipment supplied by the facility were all quality and in good condition, the instructors were good with both adults and the children. As we left the camp for home I asked my nephew if he would like to come back again and he said yes - high praise indeed!

Learn more about northern Wisconsin, the great outdoors, and your child. This is getting to go to summer camp all over again! The instructors are knowledgeable about birds, plants, bogs, frogs, cultural history of the area, and outdoor skills, as well as how to cultivate teamwork within the attendees. Bring outdoor clothes, PLENTY of mosquito repellent, and watershoes. Trees for Tomorrow provides the rest (including rain coats, if you forget yours, and bog boots). The facilities are not lavish, but comfortable; the food is tasty and in August included fresh vegetables and fruits (pineapple, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, melons). Staff was excellent about alternative activities when the weather intervened, or adding activities when there was specific interest. When you leave, you'll have a deeper appreciation for the outdoors and its wonders; you'll know the rudiments of canoeing, fire-starting, and compass use; and best of all, you and the child you bring will have lasting shared experiences and memories.

This was a wonderful program for both grandparents and grandchildren. There was a good mix of classroom experience, activities, and outings. The staff at Trees for Tomorrow were knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible. I would highly recommend this program.
