This was my first Road Scholar trip , and I've already booked my second! This program was expedited beautifully, with excellent tour guides and plentiful information. Andree and Sylvie added terrific personal touches as well. The independent time was just right, giving participants added opportunities to explore. I highly recommend this program.

This trip delivered what it promised: fun, education, free time and superb group leaders who were amiable, knowledgeable and experienced. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

This trip was about as perfect as any tour can be. The guides were encyclopedic in their knowledge ,the cities were fascinating , the food was great, the accommodations were well located and very comfortable-even the weather cooperated. Our guides seem to have thought of everything and seemed ready for any contingency, but they didn't hover. The idea of plenty of free time and the mix of activity and relaxation was perfect for us. Thank you!! Thank you! Thank you!--L&J

I can't think of a better way to explore Quebec and understand the history of Canada; anglophone vis a vis francophone. It's even better because of the superb food.

The program is extremely well run. We enjoyed the morning tours and the free afternoons for independent exploration. The meals included were better than expected. Appreciated the metro card in Montreal and the taxi service to and from the train station and enjoyed the ease of the train travel.

Lynette from Redlands, CA Number of programs attended: 3

Montreal and Quebec City would not have been as interesting without the excellent guidance of our hosts and especially Sylvie. Her sense of humor matched her knowledge of the needs of guests perfectly. What a trip! I want to go back and learn more.

Benita from Sacramento, CA Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 07/12/15 - 07/20/15
This is a wonderful trip. It is challenging at times but the flexibility of the program allows you to go at your own pace. As a single traveler I felt welcomed and found it easy to join others and have the option to go off on my own at times. I highly recommend this trip.

This program far exceeded expectations and I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to truly experience Montreal and Quebec. The mix of educational experiences and independent time was perfect. You do need to walk about 5 miles per day but it seems easy when you're so engaged and immersed in the cities. The two on-site program managers cannot be equaled and each speaker and tour guide were wonderful.

This is a fantastic, active trip with excellent talks/tours in the mornings and free time in the afternoons/evenings to explore on your own. The included metro passes/museum passes/maps/guide suggestions/train ride/etc. were "spot on". The locations/amenities of both hotels were perfect. Andre and Sylvie were amazing guides/hosts and shared their love and knowledge of these unique cities! My mother and I flew into Montreal one day early and took the Lachine Canal boat tour through the Canadian Parks.....highly recommend this boat tour that departs from the Old Port and locks through 3 of the old locks to the Atwater Market. We also attended the International Fireworks Competition the night we arrived....amazing!

We loved this trip from beginning to the end. Both guides are excellent, Andre in Montreal and Sylvie in Quebec City. As with other Road Scholar trips we felt we went to places we never would have experienced without our Road Scholar guides. We went to Ottawa two days ahead of the tour and thoroughly enjoyed that city. Would highly recommend it.

Merci, Andree & Sylvie, for a wonderful taste of Montreal & Quebec City. The morning events were well planned and interesting. Your suggestions for activities and restaurants for the afternoon and evenings were spot on. If you are in Montreal, dine at Cafe Cherrier and enjoy the perfect french fries.

I have participated in several Road Scholar adventures. This one was far and away the best ever. Andree and Sylvie had designed a program with the assistance of local guides to present Montreal and Quebec in a systematic and complete manner. This was not a cookie cutter tour, but was aimed to inform the independent traveler. the morning excursions allowed ample time in the afternoons to explore those spots which appealed to each participant. I was free to spend as much or as little time at a museum/garden/etc and was not restricted to the timing of an entire group. I walked my legs off. I don't think there is a flat street anywhere in Quebec! We were given Metro/bus passes for our time in Montreal. Andree made sure that we were all comfortable using public transportation before setting us loose. Quebec, being a smaller city, was walkable, although of course taxis and some buses were available as well. Accommodations were centrally located in both Old Montreal and Quebec. The hotel rooms were first rate. The included meals were abundant and delicious. The suggestions for restaurants for other meals on our own were spot-on, and included not just gourmet meals but local cuisine as well. A very good representation of the tastes of Quebec. The train from Montreal to Quebec was a welcome relief to my weary legs - a day to rest up and get going again at the next city! The program itself was well-designed. As each day's program was different, I found that the programs logically progressed from one topic to the next. I particularly enjoyed the walking tour of the foods of Quebec, presented in terms of immigration to the country. I can't recommend this program highly enough!

A fast-paced, entertaining and very informative introduction to Quebec, its cuisine, its history, its culture, its people. We had such a great time on our first Road Scholar trip. There will be more. Merci beaucoup to Andree and Sylvie for a delightful week! --Linda and Gary

Wonderful experience, our first with Road Scholar. The tour leaders are delightful and highly knowledgeable Québecois, as are the local guides they employ. Great combination of expert-led mornings and free afternoons. Nice group of fellow travelers. LOTS of walking, you need to be in good shape. Many meals are not included, so be prepared to spend on those. But we loved it and highly recommend it.

All aspects of this trip exceeded my expectations. Montreal and Quebec City are beautifully quaint, fascinating places to visit. It delighted all of my senses from the tastes of the pastries and pate's to the sounds of the bells

If you want to travel to any place where you are interested in history and want some free time to explore, this is the program for you. If you do not speak that local language, a tour of this caliber is definitely a program you will love.

What an outstanding trip to a beautiful province, rich in history. The group leaders and all of the instructors were fantastic, and I really enjoyed the free time that we had to explore on our own.

This program is physically demanding for older people. Future participaqnts should well heed the rating of "moderately challenging" before signing up to participate. Be prepared to deal with strong French accents. You'll enjoy the train ride between Montreal and Quebec City. Limit the program to 20 persons.

The guides/leaders were fantastic (Sylvie and Andree). The specific "specialist" were interesting and informative and added very much to the program. What a neat group of people we traveled with; feel like family and we're enjoying the pictures and memories. Would love to travel with the same group again. Matt and Nita

Donna from London, KY Number of programs attended: 1

This program is a wonderful experience for the first time Road Scholar as the leaders are warm and supportive. While the culture and language are different, the similarities are sufficient to make a first time explorer feel empowered, safe, and ready to take on the world.
