this program was such fun and a great learning experience! to learn about the sinkholes and then visit the 20000 yr old one by going down into it was really amazing! the Prairie, a very large basin with its own sinkholes, is a lovely place and lots of wildlife too! And then to go to a clam hatchery? Who knew? the Inn where we stayed was centrally located and well kept and the food was Fabulous!! I might repeat this program in another yr or 2!

A little different kind of Road Scholar program. This program was apparently organized and sponsored by the host B&B instead of an educational institution, but it was well run didn't seem to matter. The leaders were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Program did a good job of covering the local history and environment, with the sinkhole trip a highlight Small group of 14 made getting to know people and moving around easier. Accommodations were in a Victorian B&B complex. Garden atmosphere outside and historic ambiance inside downstairs, but Victorian bedrooms and closet bathrooms may not be to everyone's taste. Breakfasts and dinners at B&B were excellent, with wine & cheese pre-dinner. Instead of usual mid-day restaurants, box lunches at sites where the usual fare. Fresh fruit was always available.

This program was superb in every way. In fact, it was about as perfect as an Elderhostel can be. We enjoyed staying at the B & B, and it was so nice to be living there with a small group. Our meals were excellent, our speakers were very knowledgeable and personable, and the variety and number of birds and animals we saw far surpassed our expectations. We were also fortunate to be able to enjoy Terri's leadership, and we can't praise her highly enough. We could never have learned and experienced on our own what we did with this program.
