My husband and I took our 10 year old grandson on this program, and it far exceeded all our already high expectations! This was our 4th Road Scholar intergenerational trip, and it was the best of all! The (3) group leaders were extraordinary, the accommodations outstanding and the food fabulous! We all learned so much about our ocean environment, and we all had a totally terrific time!

A terrific program on every level! The instructors were always well prepared, very informative, always approachable and gently patient with those who were new to snorkeling. I gave this trip to my grandson as his 10th birthday gift. He thought the trip was "awesome" and I agreed!

This is an excellent program! would advise attendance as early as possible because of the heat and humidity!

Kathleen from Bedford, MA Number of programs attended: 30

The program was terrific. The accommodations exceeded any RS program I've attended as did the food. The snorkeling and other marine experiences enriched my grandson (10) and me. He loved it.

I agree, it was a wonderful trip. The leaders were outstanding. They worked well with the youngsters and the adults. The activities were fun and educational and we are really glad we took advantage of this trip. We both love snorkling and wanted to expose our grand kids to it and this was a perfect vehicle. Wonderful food and housing was great as well.

All in all it was a wonderful trip. The leaders could not have been better, and the kids had a great time learning how to snorkel, and to appreciate the eco-system of the coral reef. The turtle hospital was a real learning experience, too. We loved all of it, and especially enjoyed the other grandparents and kids.

The activity level of this program is easier than you might think. The program leaders are most accommdative of minor physical limitations. The Ocean Pointe accommodations are much more than the average grandparent/child will need or use. Two bedroom, two bath suite with full kitchen and living room. The large pool and small beach are both very nice. There is no free WiFi (OP charges $8 per day per device) and none of the restaurants have WiFi. The meals are good but the portion sizes are much too large. The snorkeling experience is outstanding -- you get into it gradually and only do what you are comfortable with. All in all, an excellent program.

Nora from Rome, OH Number of programs attended: 5

VERY active program, but so much fun as well as being a great "educational adventure". The snorkeling experience in open water was outstanding. Enjoyed eating at the local restaurants. When the Program/Travel Details suggest bringing bug spray, be sure to bring it!

I sincerely believe that intergenerational programs such as this build lasting memories for a grandparent and his/her grandchild. This program fulfilled and exceeded our expectations for an exciting and educational adventure. Thanks, Estere and Alberto, for making this a safe and memorable six days for my grandson Sam and me.

Hugh from Seattle, WA Number of programs attended: 2

I would definitely recommend this trip for kids from 9 to 13 who are swimmers and love the water and oceans. The trip was very well organized with progression in gaining confidence in the water with climatic snorkeling on a beautiful and healthy reef several miles off shore. Visits to the Turtle Hospital and Theater of the Sea emphasized the fragility of our environment and taught us how we can act to preserve it. The kids became best friends by the last day and grandparents also realized many common interests. We will do this again if the next grandchildren choose this one. Special thanks to Estere and Alberto who made it all possible.

Barbara from Newburgh, NY Number of programs attended: 2

I would recommend this program to other grand parents. What a wonderful way to have the children learn to snorkel and learn about the coral reef and all the things that are part of our magnificent ocean and what we can do to preserve it and protect the wildlife that lives in it.

Janie from San Diego, CA Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 07/06/14 - 07/11/14
Terrific leaders provided well-executed progression of activities to build snorkeling skills and confidence and knowledge of the reef fish. It was great to watch the kids bond into a cohesive group and have a great time together (and so did the adults!). I would be happy to go again if the second grandson opts for this when it is his turn!

Eileen from Foster City, CA Number of programs attended: 11

Let me just say that in all our photos from this trip, there are huge smiles on the faces of our two grandkids. They had a ball and so did we. Extremely well run trip with wonderful accommodations, fun filled and instructive activities, and exciting weather for us Californians who rarely see rain.

Philip from Sedona, AZ Number of programs attended: 5
Date attended: 06/15/14 - 06/20/14
Would do it again in a heart-beat! Anyone out there have a grand kid to loan us, haha! Seriously, this trip is "most popular" for many good reasons.

Holly from Sedona, AZ Number of programs attended: 5

For all folks reading about this program, be assured that the coral reef is one of the most beautiful sights you'll ever see! The Florida culture and atmosphere is lovely. Group leaders the best! Think spacious living quarters with separate bedroom/bathroom for your grand kid (WOW!) Pace and activity level perfect. So much fun!

Nancy from Columbia, PA Number of programs attended: 5

In all aspects, an outstanding program. The organization and leadership could not have been better.
