I've now been home for 2 1/2 weeks, but I am literally still dreaming of being in Paris. This trip was a wonderful experience, both enhanced by our guide, Louis, and the members of the group. Everything that others have written about Louis I found to be true. It is obvious that he loves what he does and is so skilled as a leader and organizer, but what I will remember is what a really kind, bright and personable individual he is. Like most travelers, I was concerned about appropriate footwear and if I could keep up with the group. Even in Paris, anything goes as far as comfortable shoe styles are concerned. I used the exercise app on my phone to keep track of the steps/miles we walked daily, and we averaged about 5 miles a day. Thanks for preparing us for this part of the trip! This experience, as well as the others I met on the trip, have encouraged me to travel as a single.

Very interesting trip as it paired Paris - where I had not been - and Barcelona - my favorite city. This is the first program I've been on where we had a couple medical issues, and Louis, our guide, handled them while keeping the rest of the program moving. He also conducted the group with classic Gallic humor that enhanced the whole experience. Local tour guides were very knowledgeable - Silvie added some insights to the Louvre and Silvia showed a neat visual explanation of the principles of Gaudi's architecture. Dali's museum was as surreal as any of his works, and 4 Gats restaurant still has the vibe of the artists who hung out there. A very worthwhile trip.

A great trip to two beautiful cities! The itinerary includes a delightful mix of activities and experiences. As always with Road Scholar, the subject matter experts enhanced those activities and experiences -- each day was packed with interesting sights and information.

40 years ago we saw the start of the Holy Family church and now were able to see so much more of the project.

Fantastic program. Our leader, Louie, was a one of a kind in his concerns for our enjoyments of the visited cities. The 2 concerts were a definite highlight. Also the trip to Segrada in Barcelona as presented by the local expert . I too enjoyed using the local metros and buses; it somehow makes the the cities more real. Dinners were mostly very good; some were excellent especially the one at 4Cats. All in all the trip was a good experience of the two cities whether you have been there before or as a new experience. I had been to Barcelona but not to Paris.

Louie Bideau was a wonderful, organized group leader and we heard fascinating presentations in both cities. Hotel in Paris was fine but rooms were cramped. Hotel in Barcelona was perfect. I highly recommend this trip as an excellent introduction to these cities, which both offer extraordinary art and architecture venues.

The Artistic Spirit of Paris & Barcelona is a top-notch program. The use of public transportation adds an interesting element to getting a "feel" for the cities. Group leader Louis Bideau is Mr. Organization and made access to all the activities easy. Sylvie in Paris is a true delight--so much knowledge and so many anecdotal stories. The Dali Museum is fascinating. The Sagrada Familia was on my "bucket list" and did not disappoint.

This trip exceeded all my expectations. It was fun, enlightening, educational and rewarding. We went non-stop and heard wondrous concerts, saw marvelous works of art, ate great food, drank super wine and had our perspectives changed by exposure to great works as explained by knowledgeable experts. The hotels were comfortable and close to interesting sights and in safe, walkable areas. The fantastic tour leader, Louis-Gabriel, made the trip even better. Louis is smart, funny, engaged, extremely capable and can turn any experience into a delight. His problem solving capabilities are unmatched and he treated each of us as if we were the most valued member of the group. Louis is great. He is flexible, helpful and makes a point of keeping his charges safe and secure. He anticipates problems and addresses them with élan. If you are lucky, he will be the one to show you Artistic Paris and Barcelona. Take this trip. It will exceed your expectations, too!

“Artistic Spirit of Paris and Barcelona” is an excellent and fairly in-depth program on art, architecture, and the lives of the artists. Our guide, Louis Bideau, was outstanding at making sure we had good instructors, relating to the people in the group, responding to the inevitable, unplanned changes, helping people deal with individual needs, and promoting the cohesion of the group. He seems to have a network of people that he can count on. For example, a performance on a Friday by a tenor was cancelled due to the singer’s illness. He managed to obtain 22 tickets for a performance the following night to a concert that turned out to be sold out—and our seats were all together.

From previous reviews, it seems to me that RS has fixed past problems. Louis met us at the airport and kept us organized throughout. Group size was 20 -- just right -- and wonderful listening devices allowed us to hear the guides at all times. Some sites were breathtakingly beautiful, like Sainte Chapelle and Sagrada Familia. Art as a theme throughout the trip was a brilliant idea. I loved feeling both the weight and wonder of European history first hand. I'll never forget this trip.

This is a very active tour - LOTS of stairs and walking. It rained in Paris and we often took the metro but it was sunny in Barcelona and we walked EVERYWHERE. I fell in love with lively, bright and beautiful Barcelona and did a lot of wandering on my own. People on the streets at all hours. Our Guide, Louie, was excellent. Quite a personality - you will remember him!

This program was educational, artistically motivating, breathtakingly beautiful. Having an insight into two historical cities was a wonderful pairing. Our guide, Louis-Gabriel Bideau, did an incredible job with logistics, group cohension ,and went out of his way to foster positive group dynamics. For anyone who loves the arts, this program is amazing.
